THE STORY BEHIND OGOSH
OGOSH is a handmade Dutch fashion brand, created by mother and daughter.
Yes, that's right! No manufacturer.
What you see at OGOSH is created in our atelier. By hand and with care, coffee breaks and a lot of sewing and painting.
Where it all began...
It all started with my mother Jolanda.
For years she had her own boutique Bandita on the Grote Markt in The Hague, where she was known for her lace tops, leather jackets and clothes that she painted or embellished with rhinestones herself. Later she continued online with DressMijo, with a slightly more bohemian style.
Creativity and fashion are in my blood. As a little girl I was already sitting on my mother's lap behind the sewing machine, while I watched all her creations.
Watching soon turned into making myself.
And then came OGOSH.
In 2023 we had our first real hit with the EYE ON YOU sweaters. We spent pretty much all of December and January spraying and painting them non-stop until they were completely sold out.
Several clothing collections followed. And since we both have a serious bag obsession, the move to bags was a very natural step.
That's how our NOT A B⭐️RKIN'S were born. Hand-painted, splattered, and of course with a wink. No two bags are the same. And suddenly they went viral!
While our first orders came mainly from the Netherlands and Belgium, we now ship our creations all over Europe and even occasionally to America. How fun is that?
A glimpse into our studio...
You'll find us together in the studio. My mother behind the sewing machine, me with my paintbrush. Old feel-good music playing in the background, which we both sing along to at the top of our lungs.
New ideas regularly emerge while we're sitting together on the floor, surrounded by all the fabrics, bags, and materials.
We're both perfectionists, but fortunately, we don't take ourselves too seriously.
No mass production or large collections. Sometimes we only make a single piece, and that's exactly what we like about it.
OGOSH is a combination of my style and my mother's. Made for every age. A little chic, a little funky, colorful, and above all, with its own twist.
